Topic: Is social media a barrier to meaningful communication? Is it a shallow means of communicating?

Social media is in fact not a barrier to meaningful communication because it is helpful in today's society. For example, social media can be a way to communicate with people from remote areas of the world. That's the wonderful thing about it, i could be on social media in the United States and be talking from someone in Africa. Social media can be a means of benefit during times of need, for example if there is an math problem that is hard for me to solve i can use social media and those on it to assist me in answering the question. Social media isnt a barrier for meaningful communication because it can help save lives, for example you can start a charity fund for kids in Africa through social media, many campaigns started through social medias and today those campaigns made the world better. But social media like everything else on earth isn't perfect, in certain situations it is a shallow means of communication. For example, social media encourages it's users to post pictures of themselves and based on those pictures other users may be attracted and urged to talk to the person with the most attractive picture.
